parties we’ve dug up some delectable December treats. Enjoy…

From Japan with love
This Christmas give the gift of a good idea. To start here’s
one we’ve come across already. Pecha Kucha is Japanese for
chit-chat and is a creative event where people have 20 powerpoint
slides and 20 seconds each slide to discuss anything they want.
Devised in Tokyo the network has grown worldwide and Edinburgh’s
Pecha Kucha has been a home of ideas and discussion inviting people
of all ages and backgrounds to discuss their passions to powerpoint.
Take a peek this month and start the ideas ball rolling…
Pecha Kucha Night Edinburgh 7.30 –9.00pm,
17th December, Inspace 1 Crichton Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9AB. Free
but advance booking required here
What the dickens!?
If Charles Dickens’ imagination could have stretched to the
idea of Muppets you can be sure he would have found a space for
them in the original. A synergy of two great talents results in
this classic tale being given the Henson treatment with a sprinkling
of Michael Caine thrown in for good measure. Don’t wait for
the TV supplements to clutter the house and start the Christmas
movie season early at the Filmhouse.
The Muppets Christmas Carol, 1pm and 10.30am
Sun 13th & Monday 14th December, Edinburgh Filmhouse. Tickets
£2.10. Call 0131 228 2688 or visit www.filmhousecinema.com

dress frolic of festive fun. Classic Christmas crooners and jingle
bells fill the floors and DJ Lennie Love will be on the decks in
The Speakeasy which will be doubling up as Santa's grotto &
gift exchange. Don some festive fashion and we’ll see you
there for dancing!
